Ask John Twelve Hawks!

A few new members have joined the site recently, and I have noticed that many of them are disappointed to have missed the live chats we have ran in the past with John Twelve Hawks.

Wikileaks-The Spy Files

I'm not sure how many of you are up to date on what Wikileaks has been doing lately, but it's really fantastic the things they've exposed recently. I'll keep from saying too much and let the information speak for itself. Frightening.  Check out the link and browse through some of the files.

The Spy Files

Mass interception of entire populations is not only a reality, it is a secret new industry spanning 25 countries

How much privacy can smartphone owners expect?

The US Supreme Court could soon allow police to monitor the movements of US mobile phone users without a warrant. Now that most of us carry sophisticated tracking devices in our pockets, how much privacy do we have a right to expect?

Privacy and Computer/Robots Stealing Our Jobs

We all know how conveinent that Android Ipod touch or Iphone you have is. It can help you get into your car if you lock the keys in. Pay for bills and do banking on the go. Activate your home secuirty. Hell, it does so much you could easily forget that it's a cell phone.

However, the conveince comes at a cost, the device's GPS data is saved in your phone company's database and stored up to a year. Now this being wespeakforfreedom, and me being one against the injustices of the vast machine, I strongly disagree with it.

England Riots

Not quite sure where to put this, but I guess here is good as any.

I'm not in the UK, nor am I from there, but I have been following what news I can scrape together about the riots over the past few days.  The interesting bit is that the rioters are rioting for no real reason other than to cause damage and to show that they can do what they want.  I believe that if they keep this up, the government will be able to use this as reasoning to increase surveillance and other Big Brother type occurences.
